Your data stays on your computer.

This page explains, in plain language, what Haily stores, what leaves your computer, when, and how you stay in control.

Last updated: 7 November 2026

In short: Haily runs on your computer and keeps your conversations, memories and files there. Information leaves your computer only to the AI provider you choose to connect, to Telegram if you turn it on, to the websites Haily visits for you, and in a small anonymous update check to us. We never receive your conversations, your files or your name.

What stays on your computer

Haily stores the following in its data folder on your computer, not on our servers:

  • your conversations and their history;
  • what Haily remembers about you, its notes and pages, the skills and lessons it has learned;
  • the search index of your Library (your documents themselves stay in the folder you chose);
  • your scheduled tasks and their results;
  • the journal of actions Haily took, and the copies it keeps so you can undo file changes;
  • records of model usage and cost, which feed the Costs screen;
  • your settings.

Passwords, keys and tokens you give Haily, such as an AI account key or a Telegram bot token, are kept in your operating system's secure credential store wherever one is available.

What leaves your computer, and when

1. The AI provider you connect

If you connect a cloud AI account (for example OpenAI, Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT), Haily sends that provider what it needs to answer you: your request, recent conversation, and relevant context such as remembered facts, passages from your documents or content from web pages. If a cloud model is your default model, background work such as remembering and learning also sends conversation content to that provider. The provider's own terms and privacy policy apply to what it receives.

If you only use local models, which run on your computer, none of this leaves your machine. You can also turn learning off, or limit it to your computer, in the Knowledge window.

2. Telegram, if you turn it on

If you connect a Telegram bot, the messages between you and Haily, and any results you have sent to Telegram, pass through Telegram's servers. Telegram's terms and privacy policy apply. Telegram is off until you set it up.

3. Websites Haily visits for you

When Haily searches the web or opens a website on your behalf, those sites receive an ordinary visit from your computer, just as if you had opened them yourself.

4. The update check to us

About once an hour, Haily asks our update server (hailyapi.dxsl.org) whether a new version exists. The request contains only:

  • the Haily version you are running;
  • your operating system (for example Windows or Linux, 64-bit);
  • the update channel (stable or beta);
  • whether Haily was used that day (yes or no);
  • two anonymous counting codes, one that changes every day and one that changes every month.

The counting codes are calculated from a random secret created when Haily is installed. That secret never leaves your computer, so we cannot work out who you are, and we cannot link one day's code to another day's. The codes let us count how many installations are active each day and each month, and nothing else.

The update check contains no names, email addresses, messages, file names or other content. Our update server does not log IP addresses and keeps no request logs.

You can switch this off in Haily's Settings › General (“Chung”): “Gửi số đếm sử dụng ẩn danh” (Send anonymous usage counts) removes the counting codes and the “used today” flag from the check, and “Tự kiểm tra bản mới” (Check for updates automatically) stops the check altogether. You will then need to look for new versions yourself.

What we, DXSL, receive

Only the update check described above. Haily has no account with us, no sign-in and no cloud storage of ours. If you email us, we use your message and address to reply to you.

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts. The download buttons pass through our update server, which forwards you to the newest installer without counting the download.

Your control

  • See, edit or forget anything Haily remembers in the Knowledge window (“Tri thức”).
  • Delete conversations you no longer need.
  • Choose local models so that your conversations never leave your computer.
  • Disconnect an AI account or Telegram at any time in Settings.
  • Remove everything by uninstalling Haily and deleting its data folder (see Stopping and uninstalling).

Changes to this policy

If what Haily sends changes, we will update this page and its date before or together with the version that makes the change.
