One installer puts the app, the background service and the command-line tool on your computer, for your user account.
64-bit Windows (x86_64).
Linux
A package for your distribution's package manager, with the same three parts: app, background service and command-line tool.
64-bit (x86_64). Ubuntu 22.04 or newer, Debian 12 or newer, or a recent Fedora.
macOS Not yet available
Haily does not run on Mac yet. There is no release date to share; this page will offer a download when one exists.
Mac users can read the guide in the meantime to see how Haily works.
Both buttons always fetch the newest version.
What your computer needs
Requirements
What you need depends on where Haily's "brain" runs: with an AI account in the cloud, or on your own computer.
| Cloud models (your AI account) | Local models (on your computer) | |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | 64-bit Windows, or 64-bit Linux (Ubuntu 22.04+, Debian 12+, Fedora) | |
| Memory (RAM) | Any modern PC is enough | 16 GB recommended |
| Graphics card | Not needed | Optional. An NVIDIA (CUDA) or Vulkan-capable card makes answers faster |
| Internet | Needed to reach your AI provider | Not needed to chat; used only for web tasks and updates |
| Disk space | Room for the app and your documents | Also room for the model files you download |
On Linux: to let Haily work on the web for you, install Google Chrome or Chromium; the package does not include a browser. On GNOME, the tray icon needs the "AppIndicator and KStatusNotifierItem Support" extension.
After you install
Haily keeps itself up to date.
- Haily checks for a new version about once an hour and tells you when one is ready.
- On Windows, one click installs it. Haily waits until it has finished whatever it is working on, then restarts on the new version. You can also let it install updates on its own while the computer is idle.
- On Linux, update through your package manager, the same way you installed it.
- Update information is digitally signed. Haily checks the signature, and the downloaded installer against it, before offering or installing a new version.
The update check also lets us count how many installs are active, without knowing who you are. The privacy page lists exactly what it sends, and you can turn it off in Settings.
